Sheena Raeburn
"The eye sees what it didn’t see before or sees in a new way what it had already seen." — Nan Shepherd, The Living Mountain
Sheena Raeburn is an artist whose abstract landscape paintings are inspired by the edges and shifting atmospheres of Scotland. Her work is marked by a vitality in her use of colour and expressive gesture, inviting viewers into immersive experiences of wind, light, warmth, and water. Working intuitively, her paintings emerge from fragments of memory, sensation, and dream, where landscape becomes both place and feeling.
Alongside her painting practice, she is a landscape architect, a perspective that deepens her attentiveness to atmosphere, spatial experience, and the emotional resonance of place.
Sheena is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee, and The University of Edinburgh. She has exhibited in the RSW Annual Exhibition in 2026 and 2024, and she has donated paintings to the Architecture Meets Art Auction in 2025/2024 supporting the restoration of a community building in Balmacara.
